Peter Ludlow

A former hospital pharmacist, he now devotes himself full-time as a professional researcher/biographer/author, specialising in, but not limited to, the collecting of local history in the Moreton Bay area. This he disseminate into the community through his self-published books (Peel Island Paradise or Prison, and Moreton Bay People The Complete Collection), lectures to local community groups, and since 1997, by maintaining an internet webpage at www.moretonbayhistory.com

As well as his Moreton Bay researches, Peter has more recently received commissions to write other works such as the history of Brisbane’s Mater Hospital PharmacyQueensland’s German Connections (co-author), and the history of the Port of Brisbane, Its People and Its Personalities.

In 2013-14, he was a consultant and co-author of a book for the Museum of Brisbane’s exhibition entitled The Many Lives of Moreton Bay.

His 2015 writing project was a commission from the Cleveland Library entitled World War I Heroes of the Redlands.

Most recently, he has completed a history of the family behind the firm of George Symons Suits, the well-known suit-maker in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne last century.
