John Stephenson

John Stephenson has pursued a career teaching English, writing prose, contributing to journals and mentoring new writers. All his fiction projects are founded in extensive historical research. His first novel The Optimist, based on an 1891 event in the life of the poet Christopher Brennan, attracted much attention and John was a guest at the Sydney and Melbourne Writers’ Festivals. His second novel The Baker’s Alchemy has also won plaudits. Though a Blue Mountains, NSW resident, John lived in Brisbane earlier in his life, loved the city and became deeply interested there in its wartime experience with the American Forces.
