Susanna de Vries AM is the author of 20 books including a five-volume series of biographies of great Australian women. She has been awarded an Order of Australia for ‘services to Australian art and literature.
In 2001 she was awarded a Tyrone Guthrie Fellowship to research and write in Ireland where her book Blue Ribbons, Bitter Bread, won an award at the Sligo Writer’s Festival. She was also awarded a Churchill Fellowship.
