Anne has always been interested in family history, and has collected books and bits and pieces of history for years. This led her to take an interest in the history of her home town, Hughenden. She decided, with her friend Roberta Morrison, to research the background of the graves on stations in the Hughenden district, as it was 100 years since the area was settled, and they wanted to record them before all signs of the graves disappeared. As their research progressed they realised that there were a lot more graves than they first thought. This led to their first book, Tales from Bush Graves.
She then decided to write a book on weddings in the Hughenden area. It included weddings from the earliest times of Hughenden to December 1960. It is called With This Ring.
Peter Russell in Winton saw the book on graves, and asked Anne and Roberta if they could put all his information together into a book for the Winton district. This they did, and it was released in mid 2017, and has been very successful.
