Doctor Anna Bemrose is an Honorary Researcher in the School of English, Media Studies and Art History at The University of Queensland (UQ). Her research for Mawson’s book incorporates many conversations with Alf Howard and a number of his friends and former CSIRO and UQ colleagues. Her voyage on an icebreaker through the Southern Ocean to Antarctica in 2005, facilitated the task of bringing to life the archival records of Sir Douglas Mawson’s 1929-31 British, Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (BANZARE). She is the author of Robert Helpmann: A Servant of Art.
