I have recently finished your book and I loved it. You are a very good story teller, and I thoroughly enjoyed the short chapters covering the important events of your journey. I loved the way there were no long, drawn out stories where one can often lose the plot.
Thank you for a couple of weeks of pure enjoyment reading your book. (I would have read it quicker but I do 12 hr shifts, but what a delight it was each time to finally open the pages again to continue reading.)

I started your book last night and my early night turned into a late one. It was hard to put the book down. It is an absolutely wonderful read. I am enjoying it so much. It is utterly delightful, interesting and funny.

Could you be so kind as to pass on my compliments and admiration to your mother-in-law who because of her well written and entertaining book I feel empowered to call her ‘Mocco’ . I know this is a liberty but seek her indulgence.
I intend to advance the book at any and all contacts and will purchase copies for some particular colleagues as I have now digested the contents of the book twice and can recommend it.
My best regards to her,
Wayne Richardson

It has been said that a woman who wants to succeed in a man’s world must work like a horse, think like a man and look like a film star.
Bloody Bastard Beautiful is testimony of the fact that Mocco Wollert ticked all the boxes, with one extra component in the mix: a healthy sense of humour.
Friends were the only support system at the time Mocco set foot on Darwin’s primitive tarmac. She and her husband soon found good people between the motley crowds that were Northern Territory’s population in the late fifties, many of who’d become friends for life.
For me the book is a page turner. I’d like to recommend it to all who are interest in Australia’s living history.
