Description
Little Pago is an energetic and playful baby loggerhead turtle living in the waters of the Great Barrier Reef. Against a magical background of coral flowers and seaweed gardens, Little Pago and his friends set out on an adventurous journey in search for food. However, not everything floating in the ocean is safe for a baby turtle to eat. A balloon, straw and plastic bag are easily mistaken for some of Little Pago‘s favourite food.
Little Pago is a mascot for the welfare of all Australian sea turtles and shines a light on one of the critical threats that face sea turtles, plastic waste in our ocean. It encourages readers to challenge the way we live, so that collectively we can work towards preventing these majestic sea creatures becoming extinct.
We all know that education is the precursor to change. Together, let’s turn the tide on Australian sea turtle extinction and plastic pollution by providing children with a meaningful and valuable narrative to live a life with purpose!

My four year old is LOVING ‘Little Pago’. What a great read! The illustrations are amazing – the pages just jump out at you – and with such a heartfelt bigger message of dangers of plastic pollution and the impacts on turtles.
‘Little Pago’ is the ultimate combination of an adorable, charismatic hero , friendship- Little Pago’s mates who help save him, action-adventure while he navigates the dangers of plastic and other pollution in his home the ocean – and the child at the end -that has you rooting for our hero til the very last page .
Very impressive.

Lauren Briggs has produced another beautifully illustrated Children’s book indicting how a little turtle Pago was nearly entrapped in a plastic bag in the ocean. This artistic and child friendly story is a urgent message about not littering, respecting our environment and protecting our wonderful animal species. The Authoress – Artist is right -children are never too young to learn and can also remind their elders!

Little Pago is a gem of a book. It’s endearing little turtle and his friends swim into your heart as he playfully instills a message of sustainability and conscious care of his ocean life.
I bought it for a family of 3 girls who fell in love with this little creature. The story is easy to follow, it’s engaging and heartwarming and shares a vital message without being punitive or didactic. It has inspired them to pick up all the bits of plastic they discover on their weekend visits to Coogee beach.
Will share with lots of my friends. It’s a fabulous little book.

What an amazing book, so beautifully illustrated and written. This is a perfect story to teach children of the dangers of “plastic” to our environment and sea life. Following Little Pago’s story will surely make children very aware of what is happening around them and how they can start helping the environment. The story and images are so endearing that they will certainly stay in the children’s minds.

This is a heartwarming story, exquisitely illustrated which brings to life the harsh impacts of plastic on our precious turtles at risk of extinction. A must have book for all children.
