3 reviews for The Deagon Deviation

  1. admin

Highly amusing, an entertaining evocative tale, unerringly depicts the mindless awfulness of modern bureaucracy- could be a documentary (except many couldn’t believe this sort of thing goes on).

Fans of the academic novel will enjoy Rob Cramb’s first outing. The story begins in familiar fashion with a research institute striving, as so many do, to produce game-changing students and digital disruption but rapidly spins out of control, as rogue algorithms threatening to destroy the hero’s life. Brisbane readers will enjoy the setting, and appreciate the title.

  3. admin

A mystery; a commentary on bureaucratic gobbledygook and what the late David Graeber called “bullshit jobs;” and a hilarious read. Cramb’s narrative voice is ironic but humane.

    Highly recommended.

Professor Tania Li, University of Toronto
